SIGIR Travel Grant Program

If you are a student author of an accepted JCDL 2022 paper, we encourage you to apply!

To be eligible, the student must:

  1. be an author on an accepted paper
  2. be the one presenting the work at the conference

We are pleased to consider all student authors for the following JCDL 2022 tracks: research, late-breaking, demo, dataset, preliminary work, and doctoral consortium.

To apply for the SIGIR Travel Grant, the student must submit an application AND the academic advisor must submit a statement of support (links provided below).

JCDL 2022 will run as a hybrid conference.  The application form will ask whether the student will attend the conference in-person or remotely.  If a student is attending in-person and receives a grant, the grant will cover the cost of registration and $1000 for travel and accommodation.  If a student is attending remotely and receives a grant, the grant will cover the cost of registration.

These grants are competitive (i.e., not every applicant will receive a grant).  We will prioritize applicants who have never received a SIGIR Student Travel Grant, applicants who played an important role in the research being presented, and applicants who have no other source of funding as indicated in the academic advisor’s statement of support.

The application and statement of support must be submitted by May 13th (AOE).
